About the artist

Born on the West Coast to an immigrant Navy family, RJ grew up moving often, learning to adapt, observe, and find meaning in every environment. After relocating to the South, he worked a series of retail jobs before joining the military himself, all while building a life and raising a family.

In his late 30s, RJ stepped into a new creative chapter—launching a graphic design, illustration, and freelance career without formal college training. Guided by his Christian faith, he sees visual storytelling as a way to reflect purpose, connection, and the narratives that shape people.

Since then, he has collaborated with musicians, marketing teams, popular coffee brands, apparel and merch labels, and eventually served as Creative Director for events and festivals. RJ’s journey is a testament to reinvention, calling, and the power of creativity rooted in faith.
